How to Save Tabs to Read Later in Chrome and Firefox (Not Using Pocket)
There’s no avoiding information overload. There are plenty of apps that make it a little easier to sift through all that information. Read-it-later apps like Pocket and Instapaper can be a great way to save things you want to come back to later, but they can also be a crippling reminder of a growing list you need to tackle.
If you’re looking for an alternative way to save things for later, but one that makes sure you come back to them, the Chrome and Firefox extension Snooze Tabby may be what you’re looking for.
How to Use Snooze Tabby to Read Tabs Later
Once you’ve installed Snooze Tabby in Firefox or Chrome, here’s how to use it:
- When you find a tab you want to snooze, click the Snooze Tabby button in your browser.
- You can select how long you want the tab snoozed: for anywhere from 30 minutes or later in the same day to a month or even a date of your choice.
- Once the time expires, the tab will reappear in your browser.
How to View and Edit Your Snoozed Tabs List
- If you decide that you want the tab back sooner, you can retrieve it by clicking the Snooze Tabby browser button.
- Click Snoozed list.
- You can delete snoozed tabs, edit the snooze length, or click the link to open it back up again.
Why Use Snooze Tabby Over Pocket?
Snooze Tabby is pretty straightforward. You can save tabs and they’ll reappear when you want them to. With Pocket, or even your browser bookmarks, you have to decide to go back to your list or account to read what you’ve saved for later.
This make Snooze Tabby an interesting choice for those of us who tend to save things to Pocket or other read it later services and never bother to actually go back to them. When the tab reappears, you’ll get a reminder of something that you want to (or need to) read.
